The Department of Defense's Iris project will put an internet router in space by the start of 2009.

UFO Hacker Loses Extradition Battle

British hacker Gary McKinnon who hacked into hundreds of US Military computers looking for secret information on UFOs lost his bid to avoid extradition to the US. The military had described his activity as "the biggest military computer hack of all time", causing $700,000 of damage. The US wanted to send him to Guantamo Bay but the UK government resisted. Short answer, yes. I've been following 2012 for years, ever since I read Daniel Pinchbeck's mind-bending autobiographical tale, Breaking Open The Head. It detailed his entheogenic experiences that literally "broke open his head" and eventually led to the sequel 2012: Return Of Quetzacoatl. There are some other good books mentioned in this piece, which is the first decent mainstream article I've read on 2012. But Pinchbeck's in the best IMHO.
